The veteran women’s squad was created by and for women over 35 years of age who wish to row competitively.  We now have around 10 active members whose ages range from late 30s to mid-50s.
Most of our squad is made up from women who took up rowing in later life but does also include those who have rowed in their youth and after a break are returning to the sport.

Winter Training
We row on the water every Saturday and Sunday (depending on river conditions) as well as land training which takes the form of running/indoor rowing/cycling and/or circuit training.

Summer Training
We continue to row on the water at weekends as well as a couple of evenings during the week.
Racing & Recent Wins
We aim to enter regattas (side by side racing) and heads (longer distance races against the clock).

• June 2008 – Marlow Town Regatta: Women’s Vet C coxless quad: Maggie Hendry, Denise Moulton, Julie Deacon, Anthea Ross
• May 2008 – Marlow Spring Regatta: Mixed Vet C coxed quad: Alex Rant, Paul Holmes, Julie Deacon, Marion Holmes, Maggie Hendry (cox)
• April 2008 – Abingdon Head: Women’s Vet C coxless quad: Maggie Hendry, Lori Hume, Heather Ellis, Denise Moulton

Life at the Club
An integral part of being in the squad is being part of the club.  We socialise in the bar after training or at the many club events that take place.
