(Picture Copyright Big Blade) This year sees 3 Maidenhead crews in two events: the Men's Quadruple Sculls and the Fawley Challenge Cup. Unfortunately, the Men's eight (pic.) failed to make the cut for the Thames Challenge Cup at the Qualifying event last Friday.
Having pre-qualified, the Men's Quad (Keith Dixon, Mike Foran, Neil Harvey and Richard Thompson) have a first round tie on Thursday against Northwich who came through Qualifying.
There are two composite Fawley crews. David Jones and Sam Ashburner team up with two boys from Newark Rowing Club and Matt Best teams up with Marlow Rowing Club in the other. The Maidenhead/Newark crew are seeded and have a bye through to the second round on Friday where they will meet either Stourport or Wycliffe Sculling Centre. Having also pre-qualified, the Maidenhead/Marlow crew have a first round tie on Thursday against St. Peters, who came through the Qualifiers.
