There are 5 categories to choose from. Starting with the most basic, they are:
Associate Membership This is a social membership which allows you to take advantage of preferential bar prices whenever it is open, hire the function room at the members’ reduced rate, and bring up to 3 guests with you at any one time, including to selected club functions throughout the year (but see note below on Guests). Parents whose children row with the junior squad may take advantage of a discounted rate if taking out this membership for themselves. Those who only wish to cox boats and not row or scull, may also join at this membership rate.
Past Active Membership This is a social membership for active rowers who wish to downgrade their membership from rowing to non-rowing. Past Actives, unlike Associates, retain their voting rights at the AGM.
Land Rower Membership This has the same benefits as Associate membership plus use of the weights and ergo room.
Senior Rowing Membership This has the same benefits as Land Rower membership plus the use of the boathouse and club boats, and voting rights at the AGM. Full-time students qualify for one of two discounted rates under this membership category (proof of student status is required).
Junior Rowing Membership This has the same benefits as Senior membership, but no voting rights at the AGM. Parents of junior members, who are not members themselves, are welcome to use the clubroom and bar areas if opting to wait while their child’s training session takes place.
Guests Guests from the UK and overseas are very welcome at the club, but should be signed in by a club member on arrival unless attending a specific function. A member may sign in a maximum of 3 guests at any one time, and the same guest may be signed in up to 8 times per calendar year. Guests who wish to use the boating facilities must first obtain permission from the membership secretary.
