Maidenhead had a strong presence at Bedford Spring Head on Sunday 9th April. Eric Sims, Director of senior coaching at Maidenhead used the event as a seat racing exercise and warm up for the forthcoming regatta season by trying out various crew combinations. 22 athletes raced in 17 crews, entering 9 different categories with most athletes racing 2 or 3 times. Conditions over the 2000m downstream course were good at the start of the day with a small stream and tailwind. Later in the afternoon, crews had to contend with a massive hail shower.
