2 Wins at Marlow Long Distance Sculls Print E-mail
Sunday, 29 October 2006
Marlow LDS was hampered by the conditions this year. The shorter 2500m division was cancelled in the morning due to river conditions, but the afternoon Championship Sculls went ahead over the traditional 4800m upstream course. Many categories were depleted in numbers as crews were put off by the conditions or decided not to turn up after the morning cancellation.

Fifi Bevan continued her successful start to the head season by beating her WJ14 1x opponent in a time 29:00.6 . Her sister, Carmel, competed in Women's Novice Sculls as there was no WJ15 event available, and finished a credible 3rd.

In the Men's Novice Sculls, Lee Bruce finished 5th in 23:45.2 and an officially declared "unifit" Roland Peters finished 9th in 25:02.9 .

Huw Jenkins and Al Cook fought off no competition to win the Men's Veteran C Double Sculls in 21:34.3 .
