4 Gold Medals At Gent International Regatta |

Maidenhead Rowing Club's juniors competed at Gent, Belgium International regatta to gain top level multi-lane race experience. All athletes performed well and all the 'High Performance Group' girls came home with at least one medal which was very pleasing for athletes, spectators and coaches.
Gold medals came from Adam Lilley who won 2 Golds over the weekend racing in a composite quad scull with Marlow RC. Katy Lion also won a Gold medal in Womens quad sculls racing in a composite GB squad crew. Louise Entwistle put up an excellent performance at U23 level in a single scull and she went on to win the final after a very good race to take Gold.
Silver medals came from Alice Ancora who as part of a composite Maidenhead/Marlow RC quad scull finished in 2nd behind the GB composite squad crew.
Ally Brooks and Louise Entwistle moved up to compete at U23 Double Sculls and finished 8 seconds behind a Belgium National squad crew to take a well earned Silver medal.
Bronze medals came from 4 Maidenhead junior athletes (Rebekah Kerns, Aimee Broadbent, Anna Campbell and Maddie Reynolds) who raced in a composite junior 8 with Henley Rowing Club to take a well deserved Bronze medal. One of the Henley members of the crew caught a crab which slowed the boat significantly and perhaps a higher medal could have been won.
Katy Lion and her partner from Bedford High School did well to take a Bronze medal in JW 2x.
In other events, Gabby Watson and Fifi Bevan came 13th out of 37 in WJ 2x. In the WJ16 1x, Gabby came 12th out of 48 and in WJ16 2x Gabby and Carmel Bevan came 4th out of 24.
