The Metropolitan Amateur Regatta is seen as one of the toughest events leading up towards Henley Royal and Henley Womens events. The Women's squad entered an eight and 2 coxed fours and Vickie Sims teamed up with Reading RC in the Women's Lightweight Double Sculls.

Although primarily a senior regatta, the Maidenhead entry this year was complimented by Juniors Ally Brooks, Phil Clapp and Adam Lilley, all gaining top three slots in their events, performing well at this high senior level.

Saturday 2nd June
The Women's S2 Coxed Four of Helen Stewart, Anne Rees, Claire Wallace and Keri Johnson, coxed by Vickie Sims
were comfortably ahead in their heat until Thames sprinted past them in the last 250m. Both crews qualified for the final where Maidenhead finished 3rd behind 2 very strong crews from Molesey and Agecroft.

The Women's Senior 3 Eight had an enforced change with Vickie Sims subbing in for Keri Johnson due to there being too many points in the crew. They finished 2nd in their heat with a strong performance. However, in the final they couldn't repeat the effort and a poor row saw them trailing the rest of the field.

Junior competitor Phil Clapp raced in the Mens Elite Quad event, with Alex Walker and Drew Ford from Henley RC and John Collins from Tideway Scullers in a Junior Composite Crew. It was a straight final between the Juniors, two Irish Crews and a U23 Composite from Durham University, Tees RC and Tideway Scullers.
