Maidenhead Sculling Trial Results Print E-mail
Friday, 05 October 2007
Well done to everyone who turned up for this annual Club Championship sculls event. This year we had 63 crews that raced on the day from a wide range of groups from the club and also involving Claires Court School. The course started at Boulters Lock and finished at the Waterside Bray. Conditions were good with only 2 cruisers seen out on the stretch.

Overall Championship Sculler for the second year running is Phil Clapp who completed the course in 10min 22s runner up sculler was Tim Wildbore who completed the course in 10min 43s. Female Championship Sculler this year is Sophie Delaney who completed the course in 11min 23s and runner up sculler was Katy Lion who finished the course in 11min 37s.

The club is very fortunate to have so many top class athletes competing in the squads we have. This event not only gives members the opportunity to see junior stars in action but also provides an opportunity to see the younger rising stars in action.

Prizes will be given out for this head in a few weeks time.Full Maidenhead Head results can be seen below.

This was a good training head and enabled everyone to take a measure of how they are doing against their peers at this early stage of the new season. A large number of scullers will be competing next weekend at Wallingford Head so we will see how everyone does against other clubs. Last year at Wallingford Maidenhead was the most successful club and we aim to repeat this again next weekend.

Many Thanks to all the helpers which included coaches and parents covering timing, safety, breakfast  to help make this event run smoothly.

We will aim to hold the next training head in approx two months time so everyone can work hard at training in order to improve their boat speed and position at the next head.

Enjoy reading the results.
