Maidenhead entered 18 crews into Reading Small Boats Head, a 3300m downstream course. Pete Beaumont, competing in Vet B Single Sculls recorded the fastest Maidenhead time of 14:53.5. Unfortunately, there were no other Vet B sculls to compete against.
Proving that rowing is a family sport, Pete's son Jack was also competing, finishing 3rd in J15 Single Sculls in a time 16:17.7 which would also have placed him 3rd in the J16 category; and 4th in J15 Double Sculls in a time 15:01.3, which was 5 seconds faster that the winning J16 time.
All together, 11 of the crews finished in the top 3 of their categories. Results for MRC crews are shown below.
