Maidenhead Rowing Club was represented at the Vesta Veterans Head on Sunday 22nd March by a mixed crew of Aileen McGovern, Maggie Hendry, Paul Holmes, Julie Deacon, Tim Oldham, Marcus Richards, Marion Holmes and Phelim Daniels and were coxed by Zoe Broadbent.

With an average age of 50+ they were the only novice crew to compete in the mixed veteran D/E category. Despite only five weeks training they finished the 6,850m course in a time of 23.04 to come fourth out of seven in their category.

This result in no small part was down to the coaching they received from Howard Boyce who willingly gave up his time for the five weeks training the crew had before the race and Zoe who motivated them whilst steering an excellent course.
