On Saturday, MRC went 'yellow' in support of National Hospice Awareness Month. Members dressed in yellow, bought sunflowers and raced Virus sculls to help raise over £1000 for the local Thames Valley Hospice.
David Jones was confirmed the race winner, but everyone had a lot of fun! Read Mike Foran's press release for the full story. A reporter and a photographer from the Maidenhead Advertiser attended the day and a full report will be printed in the Maidenhead Advertiser. The raffle for the "Yellow Pages Teddy" is still on going. Tickets will be available on Tuesday evening at MRC and at the Henley Picnic on Saturday 3rd July. The raffle will be drawn at the club the following week. Finally, a number of you have already put in orders for more "MRC Goes Yellow for Thames Valley Hospice" t-shirts. An order will be placed at the end of this week, so if any one else is interested in a souvenir t-shirt, please send an e-mail to Mike Foran indicating what size you would like. All profits will go to the TVH |
