Maidenhead Rowing Club has a wide range of competitive Veteran talent, ranging from Vet C to Vet H categories. The "young" vets (vet C) usually row in quads, doubles, and have also been known to put out an eight as well. The older vets tend to use larger boats and stick more to sweep oar rowing. There is no formal training, however the vets are seen regularly on the water when the weather is nice.
In terms of rowing events, MRC vets can be seen at the vets head and other local heads, and also partake in regattas that are 1500 metres or under. They are especially keen on regattas that are no more than 500 metres long.
If you are an experienced oarsperson and would like some more information, or would like to join the squad, please come down the club one evening (Thursday is best) or weekend morning, or contact the club captain, Keri Johnson, whose details are shown on the contacts page.
