Dear All,

I hope you all had a very good weekend and didn’t get blown away by the winds and rain. I saw that we had a few crews out on the river practising for racing in hurricanes, hope it helped!
As we power on through January we look towards the first bit of racing for 2015. There are many events coming up including Thames Valley Trail Head at the local olympic course Dorney. There are also a few competitions heading out on to the tideway in London including Quintin Head and Hammersmith Head all looking forward to the big head races in a few months time! Please note that a lot of events are becoming full very quickly now so i suggest that you plan well in advance for these, as we hope to see many Maidenhead crews performing at these events.
Its that season again for the river to get a bit angry: hopefully not as bad as last year, but there's still time! This may mean that practicing in your racing crews may become harder due to lack of time on the water. Although this is very annoying i do hope you relies its for all of our safety, many clubs will be in the same boat! But cross fingers old Father Thames behaves this year!

A Few Notices
Firstly the first Time Trial of 2015 is sheduled this weekend! Billy Brooks is already planing it, so it maybe worth to get some names for some crews together. PLEASE NOTE due to the current river flow its most likely only going to be open to experienced crews and bigger boats, the final decision on the go ahead will most likely be friday. More details will follow.
On the 8th of February the British Indoor Rowing Championships will be healed at the Lea Valley Velodrome (London 2012 Velodrome). Maidenhead has some athletes competing at this event (names will follow closer to the event). This is a great opportunity for members of the club to go a support our athletes brave enough to compete at this very competitive event. The atmosphere at BIRC is amazing and especially in the iconic venue! Our athletes will be amongst the countries best. I strongly recommend this event for a great day out and it would be great to get down there and support our own!!!
Finally! Today we received our very first Watt Bike. It is situated in the ergo room and is there for all to use (carefully!) It is perfect for anybody who is injured or just for a good solid work out. We may have to set up a booking rota depending on its popularity but please give it a go and if you have feed back please let me know. I must just ask to please respect it and look after it, please wipe it down after use, if there is any issues with it please let me know asap. It is a piece of kit that is fore fronting our mission to invest in our athletes and facilities so i do hope you enjoy it. For more info on the bike please visit their websitewww.wattbike.com.
Anyhow I hope you all have a great week and I hope we get out on the river this weekend.
Yours as always,
James
