Dear All,

Well its been a very busy week for MRC lots of events and lots of great results. Our athletes results this week show that Maidenhead is beginning to flex its muscles for the 2015 season. Before I go into the results I think its worth thanking all our supporters, parents and coaches for the amount of work they put into providing the strong team we all need as members and competitors.

Racing

Oarsport Junior Sculling Head.

Firstly a massive well done to our J17 quad who won their event by 14 seconds this result would have also got them into the top 7 in the j18 quad division. Our j16 boys quad came 8th in their division whilst the junior girls j16 quad came in 6th respectfully. The junior girls j15 quad came 5th and the junior girls j14 quad came joint 2nd with Marlow RC. These are some fantastic results for the ever strengthening Junior squad and thank you for representing the club so well.

Kingston Head of the River.

We only had one crew entered into this event this year being the women's HP quad. The girls won the event by a big margin showing their dominance in this event early on in the season. The race was interesting due to the massive head winds on the course, this included the bow woman (Maddy Dobson) ending up feet up after nearly being ejected from the boat, but the crew came through it all and won in great fashion.

Junior Inter Regional Trials.

Well if the Juniors hadn't already impressed us on Tuesday they again brought back some great results from JIRR at Dorney lake yesterday. Maidenhead athletes recorded first places in the j15 1x, wj14 4x, j16 4x, not to mention a few 2nd and 3rd places. A great job again by the athletes and coaches.

And Finally,

Unfortunately we didn't field any crews at Schools head in London on monday but Claire's court did, fielding a quad and an eight for the first ever time, the quad came 4th and the eight came 13th respectfully. Well done to these Claire's court athletes and coaches on theeir continuing build in strength.

Well done everybody, I do hope I haven't forgotten anybody but if I have please let me know. Our twitter and Facebook platforms will always be the first with Maidenhead results so please keep an eye out on these to keep up to date as it happens.

Next week is the turn of the Vet squad for Vets head in London we wish them good luck, support will be greatly received on Saturday for our vets on the Tideway. Eights head of the river is on Sunday unfortunately we do not have any crews entered into this.

Notices

The ergo room flooring fitting has had to be push back to this Wednesday so the erg room will be relocated into the function room for a few days from Wednesday.

The Annual dinner is now well under way in organisation and it plans to be the best yet. If you would like to come please fill out a form that you can find in a pouch on the side of the pigeon hole box in the reception. If you need any more info please get in touch with me or Emma Peacock.

As things start ramping up for the summer season including our junior regatta and main regatta its important to keep on top of our boat maintenance and cleaning of our boats and club house, so please let the relevant captains or club officials know.

I hope you all have a great week and if you're racing next week good luck!

Yours as always,
James
