The Development Squad is the youngest squad at Maidenhead Rowing Club and offers a structured pathway for emerging rowers, as well as those returning to the sport, who are ready to take their skills to the next level. Whether you're keen to refine your technique, build fitness, get your first taste of racing or quickly regain your abilities, this is where it starts.
We welcome anyone with motivation to improve, train regularly, and compete for Maidenhead. Guided by a dedicated coach, the Dev Squad focuses on developing technical skills, fitness, and teamwork in a supportive and energetic environment.
As a member, you’ll be expected to train consistently—both on the water and on land—with a positive attitude and a commitment to squad goals. During spring and summer, sessions take place mostly on the water in singles, doubles, or quads. In autumn and winter, we make the most of the daylight and weather conditions to continue water sessions where possible, with a stronger focus on erg and land-based training.
The aim is to help rowers build the confidence and capability to transition into MRC’s senior and masters squads.
If you're ready to grow your skills and start racing with the club, get in touch at membership@maidenheadrc.org.uk and we’ll be happy to share more details.
